Running a country is certainly a workout in its own respect, but Kamala Harris‘ routine appears to leave even the fittest breathless at times.
A video of Harris running up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington recently surfaced, showing the US Vice President’s Secret Service agents struggling to keep up with her.
Bobby Tran, the man who posted the video, was running along the National Mall on Sunday with his girlfriend, hoping to get a glimpse of artist Simon Berger’s portrait of Harris.

Instead, they spotted the politician herself in the midst of a rigorous workout, trailed by her husband Doug Emhoff and their protection agents.
“We turned around and there she was, running the steps, and being one with the community,” Tran told Insider.
Tran and his girlfriend then spotted Emhoff waiting for her at the top of the steps to “give her a high five” as she reached the end of her run.
“I thought that was the coolest thing to be so supportive of each other out there,” Tran said.
Tran’s video was shared across social media, with Twitter user @sammycakerz_ racking up over 4.2 million views.
“Get you a VP who works hard for the American people and makes time to get a workout in,” she wrote in the caption.
“Thank you, this is the tweet of the day. I just did my running and gym and came in a good mood after seeing this. Kamala is simply the best,” one reply reads.
“My quads hurt just looking at this. And I ran three miles this morning. Love her and our Second Gentleman so much,” shared another.
Tran said the Vice President paused at times to speak to kids in the area and posed for photos with them.
The man added Harris was “kind enough to oblige” for a photo with him.
Harris previously discussed her exercise routine with former President Barack Obama in a candid mid-campaign trail conversation.
The politician told Obama via a video call broadcast to CNBC that she works out “every morning, regardless of how much sleep” she’s had.
“It’s just the best way to start the day.”
She also informed the former President she resorted to lifting water bottles as hand weights during lockdown.
Harris has also been known to kick off her routine “on the elliptical or SoulCycle” and sometimes swims, according to The Cut — provided it’s “not going to be an issue with [her] hair.”
