Truly horrifying pics of star’s injuryChris Weidman is attended to after breaking his leg.

UFC star Chris Weidman has revealed the huge scars he was left with after reconstructive surgery on his horror leg break.

Last week’s UFC clash with Uriah Hall lasted only seconds after he was dealt the sickening injury.

Hall’s leg kick was executing to devastating effect, breaking Weidman’s tibia and fibula.

The 36-year-old then stepped down on the octagon canvas, seemingly unaware of the injury, and exacerbated it further, The Sun reports.

A video posted to his Instagram bore out the extent of the scarring left from surgery to fix the break as well as a cut by his ankle after the bone pierced his skin.

American fighter Weidman wrote: “I just undressed my injury.

“The cut on the back of the calf is from when I stepped down in octagon, and bone went through calf muscle and skin.

“Special thanks to Dr Davidson and Heather Linden from UFC PI for setting me up with everything I need and hooking me up with Dr Hsu out of Charlotte to get me back on my feet.

“I was waiting two weeks to take off the dressing, but Dr Hsu wanted me to do it immediately.

“I know there are many worried about me, including family friends and fans. I will be good. Love you all.”

Weidman left UFC 261 on a stretcher in front of a shocked crowd before undergoing the emergency operation.

X-rays revealed the true nature of the damage that required a metal rod to be interested into his leg, attached by screws and bolts.

Well-wishers have flooded his social media accounts with messages of support, including from Anderson Silva.

The Brazilian suffered a similarly gruesome injury in a 2013 middleweight title fight against Weidman that ruled him out for over a year.
