The owner of the studio told 9News an argument between family members escalated over some name calling before a male entertainer stepped in and was stabbed.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The suspect left prior to officers arriving but was found a short time later at a nearby service station where he was arrested.
The 23-year-old from Semaphore has been charged with aggravated assault causing harm and bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on September 17.

It wasn’t the only incident police attended at the complex last night.
A few hours before the stabbing, police patrols attended a dispute at another business resulting in an arrest over an outstanding warrant.
